| As the plunger goes down the pressure increases which causes the temperature to increase and burn the material at the bottom. |
The first experiment we did was to put a flask in hot and cold water to see what would happen to a "piston" that was connected to it. The last experiment was to burn a material at the bottom of a tube when the plunger increases the pressure. Most of the day was spent doing calculations with the ideal gas equation and the first law of thermodynamics.
