Heat Transfer Labs and Calculations

Two of the Styrofoam cups were used to hold hot and cold water and then mixed to equalize the temperature.

The Styrofoam cup held hot water and the can held cold water, then the can was placed in the hot water to measure the rate at which the temperatures equalized.

This graph shows the rate at which the temperatures of the water in the Styrofoam cup and in the can equalizes.

We started by going over temperature conversions and experimented with heat transfer between hot and cold water. After, we did a similar experiment with a can holding the cold water instead of mixing the hot and cold water. Most of the time was spent doing calculations for heat transfer.
