Electromagnetic Induction

We used activphysics to see how currents and magnetic fields create torque.

When a current was put through the metal rod, it was pushed away from the magnet or pulled towards it.

We used activphysics to see how the pushing and pulling works.

We went over electromagnetic induction after we finished up with magnetic flux. Most of the time was spent on activphysics. One experiment was done were current and a magnetic field is able to push or pull a current carrying rod.

Magnetic Fields

Different things were put around the top cylinder to see what would happen to them when a current was put through the coils.

A magnet and a non-magnet were dropped down the two pipes to what would happen.

The whole period was about magnetic fields, which includes induces magnetic fields from currents moving in a spiral. Two experiments were done, one to see what would happen to different materials when put through an induced material, and another to see what happen when a magnet and a non-magnet are dropped down metal pipes. The calculations we did were on emfs, flux, magnetic force, and magnetic fields.
